The database of the mill measuring functions maintains log inventory data as well as contract data from suppliers. With the use of these data log arrivals and contract status are taken care of. The data is picked up from database for reports using the truck number and/or the contract number of the batch. Logs are measured when the pass one by one through the scanner. The operator selects a grade for every log - for reception based on what was agreed with the supplier, for the cutting requirements of the saw mill. The sorting program also automatically provides a grade which must be confirmed by the operator. The system draws an agreed quantity of control logs and guides them to the reserve bin.
